It’s a great word, one of my favorites! But then I pretty much say that about all words! But today it’s being tested.

I turned on the TV wanting to know and yet not wanting to know. I watched in total astonishment. Not particularly surprised by what is happening but totally surprised by how few actually get it.
Filled with sadness for my country…..I forced myself to turn the TV off and take some time to really think about the source of my angst. Man.
Once I realized THAT, I overflowed with joy! For my faith is not in man. Whew! I went to the book I keep on my desk filled with God’s promises and found comfort.
Just a few of my favorites that reminded me of what is really important on this day.
….IF GOD BE FOR US, WHO CAN BE AGAINST US? HE THAT SPARED NOT HIS OWN SON BUT DELIVERED HIM UP FOR US ALL, HOW SHALL HE NOT WITH HIM ALSO FREELY GIVE US ALL THINGS. ~Romans 8:31-32
FOR WE WALK BY FAITH, NOT BY SIGHT. ~II Corinthians 5:7
THE LORD IS WITH ME; I WILL NOT BE AFRAID. WHAT CAN MAN DO TO ME? ~Psalm 118:6
FOR I AM PERSUADED THAT NEITHER DEATH, NOR LIFE, NOR ANGELS, NOR PRINCIPALITIES, NOR POWERS, NOR THINGS PRESENT, NOR THINGS TO COME, NOR HEIGHT, NOR DEPTH, NOR ANY OTHER CREATION SHALL BE ABLE TO SEPARATE US FROM THE LOVE OF GOD WHICH IS IN CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD. ~Romans 8:38-39

I am a christian and no matter what goes on around me it does not…for even one single second…change God’s perfect plan for my life. I am human and I will continue to worry for my nation and my future and that of those I love.
But I take great comfort in God’s word, God’s promises, the fact that Jesus Christ controls history and the Supreme Court of Heaven is open 24/7!
In the end, none of us get away with anything in this life. I will continue to do my very best to live in light of eternity and glorify Him in all that I do.

oh and have you read “Captivating by John & Stasi Eldredge” it is a GREAT Christian book about Women in the eyes of God.

WOW Janet, what an incredible post! I was grinning the entire time I was reading and added tears at the end. What a great post, Janet. I know the feeling of sadness about what is happening in our country, but then I remember God is in control of all things for His greater purposes. He knows the plan and nothing is out of His control. It’s always good to be reminded of what we have in Him. Thanks for your “words”!!

Without faith I couldn’t get up in the morning. I know He is in control whether TPTB know it or not.
