goodies!
The big reveal of my treasures from “shoppin” (as my friend Mindy likes to say!) The Red Barn on Saturday! Much to my surprise, I scored on Ironstone!
The first piece I bought is a compote! I love these almost as much as I love cakestands! With their big bowls they are simply beautiful! Sometimes it really stinks to be in the business of selling what I collect!
Next I came across a dealer that didn’t have a lot of Ironstone, but what she had she was willing to move! Sugars are so hard to find and she had three! So many times they have lost their lids, but they are fabulous to use for a little bunch of fresh roses or your favorite flowers!
I also snagged six, well I don’t know what the heck to call them….sherbets, I guess! Whatever, they are fabulous! Never seen them before and not totally convinced they are Ironstone. But I love finding “white” that mixes in with Ironstone and these do!
Aren’t they great? I really hope….for your sake….they make it to Warrenton! I am making no promises! I really should get them priced and packed away pronto so I’ll forget about them!
She also had some handleless cups! Cute, huh?
Hand-in-hand with my word thing I also adore letters and found these when I found Meloney and “Seth“!
Bought this thingie from my friend Theresa! It’s gonna be perfect for holding a vintage flashcard or SweetTalk tag!
Wanna know what I’m keeping? Well, I had to have this old bottle with my initial!
Now take a peek at this A-MAZING Ironstone bowl I found! Help me!
You know how I love crazing and this bowl is covered! Perfection!
The dealer I bought this from said it’s from about 1850 and she thinks it was used to serve ice cream! My husband wants a demo…..not gonna happen!
In case I wasn’t clear…..this piece is NOT going to Warrenton!!!
Bought one more thing from Theresa, but I’m saving it for another post! It’s going on my word board and you’re gonna wanna see it!
Leave a comment so I can enter your name in the SweetTalk Valentine give-away! Drawing a winner one week from today….are you gonna be the lucky duck?

i love the vintage ironstone ice cream bowl! in huntsville there are a bunch of really neat antique stores and we love to go scour them for hidden treasures!
p.s. now the only thing you need to make the ironstone bowl perfect is a whole lot of yummy chocolate girl scout cookie ice cream, right? (:

For some reason, I’m drawn more to the sugars. I never realized it until you mentioned it, but we don’t see them often, do we?
I’m not sure about the ice cream bowl. How big is it? It looks suspiciously like a restaurant sugar bowl to me. From the 1950’s. Only I’ve never seen one of those “footed”. Doesn’t really matter, though. It’s a pretty and fun bowl regardless.

Janet, I LOVE all of the fantastic ironstone! I know that Mo must be envious of that compote! Speaking of your sweet sister, she taught me everything I know about ironstone and to LOVE and appreciate it. I don’t think I would have the HEART to part with
the sherbets or the cups without handles.
They would look so fantastic all lined up on your sideboard!
