Words. They are powerful little things. They can make you laugh with abandon, weep with joy or smile with contentment. Some words sound funny - like clinkety-clank. Other words just look funny - like giggle. And still other words can make your heart ache with yearning - like dream.

i get it…really i do!

I’m just not good at it!  Quite honestly, I simply don’t have the patience to frequent thrift stores!

BUT…..as of this a.m. I may very well be finding the time!

I woke up this morning with this need to go and I had a sack of books to donate so why not!  And I scored…big!

first up….four Homer Laughlin platters….good, huh?

turned the corner and ’bout pee’d my pants when i saw this Ironstone washbowl…..

gravy boats aren’t hard to find and they all look pretty much the same, but i bought this one…just cuz!

next, i found this silver leaf dish.  i don’t know…could go either way!  i liked it better after i put it on one of the Homer Laughlin platters!

i found these the last time i went to a thrift store…remember…

guess what i found to go with them?

haven’t done anything with the fans….but thinking, along with the bells and some cute ribbon, they are going to be perfect on a Christmas tree!

That’s it!  Not bad for a girl who doesn’t DO thrift stores!  BTW….figured out the trick…..DON’T get a buggy!  Seems every time I leave the shopping buggy at the front door, I score!  Sadly, this time there was no cute basket to rescue me!

Comments, please!  I know you got something to say and I wanna hear it!  Besides, that’s the only way to get entered into the July SweetTalk give-away….Variety Gift Tag Package!

Great finds.I go off into my own little world when I’m thrift shopping.I look at stuff and think ” what can I make this into so it will look primitive?” Got lots of goodies to get pics of from my thrift shopping .SOON ,I promise.

I am liking those Homer Laughlin platters, I grab any Laughlin I run across. I love thrift store shopping…go once or twice a week to my favorite one. Missed a wicker daybed there last week and I am still grieving over it…if only I had not stopped at the post office first…LOL! You certainly found some great items…you’ll get hooked too.

You know how much I LOVE thrift stores! I am not ashamed to say that I buy lots of my clothes there! In fact, I got to Ruidoso one outfit short, so I went to the resale shops and couldn’t believe it when I found a sequined circle skirt!!! I even had brought along a shirt that would go with it! SCORE!!!

Well, yeah, you did good. Why do you need me to tell you this? Ohhh! You need me to tell you to shop at thrift stores more often. Well, yeah! For sure! Cool platters. And I would have grabbed the gravy boat, too. ~Mindy
