I Saw…
It had to be! Wait, maybe it was a dream. It seemed so real. An illusion?There were lots of people. It was loud. It was crowded. People were in a hurry. I was in a hurry. I didn’t know which way to go. I was being pushed by the masses. But I wasn’t scared. I was happy! In fact, I was thrilled! Was it Warrenton? Looked and felt a lot like Warrenton. But the accents weren’t Texan. Wait, what if I wanted to buy something…do they even speak Texas in heaven? They must….
That’s it…frantic. That’s how I felt. Where to start, where to go. How big is it? What will I find? Oh no, I got here on a plane. My suitcase is tiny. Ship, I’ll ship it all back, that’s it. Okay, frantic is passing. I’m breathing again. It’s not a dream. I know because I looked at my husband’s face and saw shear panic. I read his mind “she’s gonna shop.” And then I knew. It was all real! I suppose it was dream of sorts but I was there, present, in the moment…living the dream!
I was in London at the Portobello Market! It’s London most famous market and I was there to experience it!
I was frozen in time! I didn’t know how to take it all in…hey, I’m a pro! That’s it and I was off! Every nook and cranny. Every tiny stall. Up and down steps. Every vendor…I saw it all! The fresh flowers and fruit. The smells of the sausages cooking…okay, English food leaves a little to be desired, but it was part of the experience! I fell right into step as if I’d been there before! I elbowed my way through. And took lots of pics!
I had so little time. But I was so happy! I had heard about this market for years and to be there was the BEST! But had I had any doubts that I was in the right place they were quickly dismissed. I paused, just for a moment, to take it all in. It was hard to know where to look! And then, in the crowd approaching me I heard a familiar voice! It didn’t seem all that crazy that I’d see a face I’d seen before…..Rachel Ashwell was on me before I could get my thoughts collected…..or my camera ready! She was in a hurry, talking on her cell phone. I was in good company!
That’s the back of her head…swear! Hey, it’s the best I could do!
I left Portobello Market that day with a smile on my face, a skip in my step and a tiny treasure! We were off to the next stop…is there something else to see in London!?!

Oh cool to be shopping in a London FM. I hope you found lots and you are bringing it back for your space at Cole’s!! Yippee for us if so.

Why I would recognize the back of that head anywhere…right!!! You could have said it was Madonna and I would believe you!
I cannot believe you would rather be in England than here in Texas with our balmy 100 degrees days!

Hey Janet!!!! I am just gaga over your trip you have got to be just the luckiest person I know. How ever did you get to go??? I need some tips on talking my husband into to that trip, no not me and him, me and the girls!!!! Can you go back? I would love it, one way, of course, and you saw Rachel? I would have died!!!!
