Words. They are powerful little things. They can make you laugh with abandon, weep with joy or smile with contentment. Some words sound funny - like clinkety-clank. Other words just look funny - like giggle. And still other words can make your heart ache with yearning - like dream.

pro-cras-ti-na-tor!

I really don’t like to think of myself as a procrastinator! But in all honesty, I definitely lean in that direction! I always seem to be working on a “list” for after a particular event or holiday or trip. Like I can’t be bothered or don’t have the time to do all this before “X”! And then I stay in denial that there is ever going to be a time when that list has to be tackled!

I know, you don’t have to tell me that there is absolutely no logic here! In a twisted-sorta-way it just works for me!

Currently I’m working on the list I started before Christmas. All those things I couldn’t squeeze in because of the holiday! In reality, I just didn’t want to do any of it so I made a list! Once I jot it down, I forget about it!

I pulled out that list last week and it’s pretty ugly! Resulting in this week, last week and next week being jam-packed with a bunch of not-fun stuff! Ugh.

So, if I’m going to be one then I want a cuter word! I was thinking something like put off-er or a dawdle-er or that I simply defer, that’s a pretty important and official word! How ’bout dilly-dally-er! Yeah, I think I like that one!

I’M A DILLYDALLYER! It has a certain ring to it and actually sounds like something I want to be! I’m really liking how I turned this whole thing around!

See, if I weren’t a dillydallyer I wouldn’t have an excuse to buy all these cute notebooks for my lists…hmmm…maybe I’m not a dillydallyer after all, maybe I have a cute notebook obsession!

Oh well, I’m scratching one thing off at a time and adding anything that wasn’t on the list and scratching it off so it looks like I’m accomplishing more! Now I think I’ll pick a notebook because I really need to get started on my “after Warrenton list”!

I have been dillying and dallying so much, I am behind on blogs, on my barn, on my house. Heck, I still have a naked Christmas tree standing in my entry way…maybe it will grow legs and walk to the barn? Good luck with those lists! ~Mindy
