Words. They are powerful little things. They can make you laugh with abandon, weep with joy or smile with contentment. Some words sound funny - like clinkety-clank. Other words just look funny - like giggle. And still other words can make your heart ache with yearning - like dream.

this crazy thing called “life”!

We had a great holiday! The Christmas decorations are packed away. But will the leftovers ever be gone? We’ll nibble on them until a time in the near future when I won’t feel guilty for throwing them out. All those “starving children” lectures from my childhood come flooding back as the garbage disposal grinds and grinds!

I don’t make resolutions. I was never big on that idea. I tend to reslove to “not cook again til Thanksgiving” or “pass laundry duties to someone else in the house” or “swear off buying another piece of Ironstone”! They all seem like good ideas in the moment, but I think you can see the flaw in my system!

After Christmas I was doing a little shopping….you know, I never realized how much I actually shop until I started blogging! It’s clearly a “theme” in my life! And one I have no intention of doing anything about! Anyway, I came across a small notebook, the kind I carry in my purse, and on the front it says the following:

Love your crazy, unbelievable,

challenging, side-splitting, spontaneous,

improbable, unpredictable, exasperating,

big-hearted, absurd, delicious,

abundant, inspiring, joyous,

daring, jaw-dropping,

beautiful life!

Isn’t it so perfect that I would love this? I’m gonna break my “no resolution” rule and resolve to live by this perfectly stated string of words!

And not a day too soon….as I start flipping the calendar pages on the new year, I can see that it is already stacking up to be very busy! Of course, I wouldn’t have it any other way! Looking back on 2009, December was the only month that I was home for four weeks in a row……

Sigh. Deep breath. Buckle up!

You sound like me, busy and more busy. We’ve already stated the new year by hitting the ground running, but I too wouldn’t have it any other way. Have a blessed and happy New Year!

Has somebody been peeking in your window and stealing your ideas? Your little journal reads like something you would have designed!
Life is full and busy…but as long as we keep moving…age can’t catch up!

I love that sentiment! Perfectly perfect. And… Me too! That’s exactly how I like to feel. Love this life. Don’t we have fun? Only we can often add boring and mundane to my list. LOL
