Words. They are powerful little things. They can make you laugh with abandon, weep with joy or smile with contentment. Some words sound funny - like clinkety-clank. Other words just look funny - like giggle. And still other words can make your heart ache with yearning - like dream.

happy 100th post to me!

Truly the miracle is not that I found 100 things to talk about, the miracle is that you all have come, post after post, to read what’s been on my mind!

The good and the bad.  The joy and the sad.   The highs and the lows.

I HEART each of you for reading and for commenting!  You will never know how many times your words lift me up, make me smile and laugh-out-loud!  You have shown me things in my own posts I didn’t see, given me new perspective and supported me.

I know God brought each of you to my little blog as another way to show His grace and blessing in my life!  I appreciate you so-so much!

Thank you….heart kisses from me to you!

One of the interesting things I have learned, since launching SweetTalk, is that words are very personal.  I don’t know why I thought people would generally like the same few words.  But what I’ve discovered is that the words we love are individual to each of us.

You’ve spent the last year learning about words that have great meaning to me and this post I’d like to know a little something more about you!

In your comment, please tell me your favorite word and why!

Now…..did y’all feel the earth shake just a hint when I jumped for joy Thursday afternoon as the last truck pulled out of the driveway?  The closet is finished!  hooray!

It is so incredible, I seriously considered taking a pillow and blankie and camping for the night!  I couldn’t start hauling clothes in fast enough!  ohmygoodness!

Let me just step outta the way and show you some pictures!

i’ll start with the token *husband* side!  he deserves credit for being neat!

next up, my favorite part!  56 shoe cubbies = 90ish pairs of shoes!  that about covers it!

wasn’t sure if i should organize them by color or style or summer or winter, but it pretty much ended up being color!  first up….pink!

every girl needs animal print shoes!

look how cute my converse are!

even the uggs have a home!

enough with the shoes!  i  had an extra cubbie for decorating!  a *couch* jewelry box my sis gave me with a pair of my grandmother’s shoes next to it!  i was gonna wear that tiara one time for my birthday in warrenton, but it ’bout squeezed my eyeballs outta my head!

now i can also claim….everything has a place and everything is in its place!

you’ll be relieved to know that the mexican dresses are safe & sound!  and they don’t even drag the floor any more!  BONUS!

secret hiding place….in tact!

pull out laundry and dry cleaning baskets!

TANGLE-FREE hanger zone!

oh yeah, found my MIA bunny slippers on the cleanout!  that was exciting!

the old dresser crammed in the back….gone!  and replaced with *his* and *hers*

IT’S A BEAUTIFUL THING!

Back to business!  Comments!  Comments!  Comments!

Monday I’m drawing a winner for the SweetTalk 4th of July Package!  This is one of my favorites!  And you gotta comment to be entered!

And don’t forget to leave a comment celebrating my 100th post with your favorite word and why!

Gotta run…..I spy an empty shoe cubbie!

May 22 2010

if i’m gonna do this…and i am…

then i’m gonna make you live through it with me!

We built our home going on 16 years ago.  In fact, the weekend we moved in, I was in Round Top shopping!  My husband and I have an agreement……I pack and unpack and he moves everything.  In reality there was nothing for me to do that *moving* weekend and it happened to be Fall Round Top and…I don’t really have to say anything else!

Now we’ve hit that ~do we move~ or ~do we remodel~ snag.  I just have to say, neither idea is particularly appealing!  And the fact of the matter is that if we move then it would require some remodeling……

First up is the master closet “project” (yikes, I did it, I used that nasty 7-letter word!) which starts bright and early Monday morning!

We have a two-story house and we have a guest room downstairs but that part of the house is one-story.   When the house was under construction I walked into the master bathroom one day and…holycow…discovered that roof space over the downstairs bedroom!

What was going to be wasted space instantly became the master closet!  It’s pretty big and I pride myself in being able to fill-up an empty space!  Either with my ginormous personality or lots of stuff!

I’ve never been one of those girls that had to complain about picking up after my husband.  With him, everything has a place and everything is in its place!  Me, on the other hand, well I keep the house reallyreally tidy so my side of the closet is where I let things get a little out of hand!

So, I rock-paper-scissor’ed for the far side of the closet!  Actually, truth be known, I threw a big hissy-fit and it worked!

the clothing racks have arrived….all three of them….uh….like that’s gonna make a dent!

that’s about a quarter of my shoes…..the closet organizing girl counted 90ish pairs…..gulp!

what exactly is that mEss?  i don’t know, but i do know it’s going bye-bye!

see that dresser hiding in the corner?  it’s going away too!

notice the unsuspecting hats?  shhhh….under those is where i hide all my receipts and tags!

this is the only pic from my husband’s side!  THIS i can (and often do!) complain about….TANGLED coat hangers make me C R A Z Y!  just ask mindy or robelyn, they love to tease me about it!

My job this weekend is to get the closet completely emptied.  So far I’ve got four large garbage bags for donating….and that’s just from my side!

Monday and Tuesday will be demo and painting ~ Wednesday the old icky carpet comes out and hardwood floors go down ~ Thursday and Friday my new best friend the closet-girl comes in with her crew to install the new system!

It’s gonna be an exciting week at my house!  stay tuned…..
