it’s a story i remember well!  maybe cuz it still stings a wee bit!  i don’t remember my exact age, but it had to be between the ages of 2 and 5 cuz we lived in ft. worth and that was definitely the scene of the uh *episode*!

we had a babysitter named Nanny.  i hated her.  plain and simple!  she was old.  and, yes, i realize that term is relative these days, but from my little green eyes looking up at her all i saw was OLD, MEAN and GRUMPY.

it did not make for a good experience.  for either of us.

one day, when the mother left me with her, i threw a fit.  i do have a reasonable (uh-huh) amount of drama running through my veins.  and, although it may come as a shock, i can…if need be…throw a decent fit!

so.  on that particular day.  i was mad as a hornet.  i marched to my room wearing…

i threw myself on my bed…

the screamin’ (apparently) wasn’t getting the desired result.  so i turned it up a notch.  and started kicking…

the window.  until.  i kicked it.  OUT.

i don’t remember the rest.  self preservation.  i’m sure.  although i think it’s safe to say…by the time the whole thing was over…my tiny bottom was probably the same color as my tiny sneakers!

these aren’t my actual sneakers, but they are identical to the ones i had!  my sister found these JUNKin’ and gave them to me for my birthday this year!

gotta tell ya…i haven’t seen anything RED in weeks!  this one is a bit of a stretch but it’s funny and i make the rules so i’m goin’ with it!

i pulled up to an office building the other day and this is what i saw…

i’ve made my share of spelling mistakes but i’ve never done it in size GIANT.  in a PARKING LOT.  in PAINT.  in front of 12, yes TWELVE SPACES!  at an OFFICE BUILDING.  for all the city to see…nope, not me…

i make my spelling mistakes on the world wide web!  ACK!

remember the food pyramid?  if my memory serves me correctly (ahem) then one of those food groups included “popcorn”!  that’s my story and i’m stickin’ with it!

popcorn is one of my favorite foods!  i could honestly eat it every single day!  so when i saw this old-timey popcorn machine in a shop i was recently in i knew it would be perfect for RED friday!

My space in Antique Queens continued…my favorite part about these pictures is that my sis used a doll bed to surround this sweet feather tree!  Then she added REDs and whites and blacks and creams…a little twist on tradition…

for the base of the tree, she used a round battery jar filled with fringe…i can hardly stand how cute it is!
