i moved to Marburger in the Fall of 2010 and I absolutely love my room in the Farm House!  i’ve been keeping a little secret about my new home and…i suppose…it’s time to confess!

if you’ve ever set up at a show then you know there’s down time.  it’s painful!  it’s the not-fun part of doing shows!  i guess there’s down time in everything, but when you’re doing a show, well, you’re stuck in your space!

i have my fair share of down time…but…i also happen to have a room with a view!  you see, my little room looks out on the artists of Tent G who work on their creations during the show.  yeah, it’s really cool!

this Spring when i looked out my window…this is what i saw…

you know my favorite shape is the heart!  and this gigantic one covered in bottle caps is freakin’ awesome!

but do you see that, uh, guy behind it?  he’s the artiste!  and…you know…if i have down time…which i do…and i happen to use that down time, say, looking out my window…well…i mean…i just gotta tell ya…the time passes pretty darn fast!

here, i just happen to have a better picture…uh, you know, testing out the zoom feature on my camera…

sadly, the weather didn’t get hot enough for him to remove his shirt!  did i just say that?  oh my.

well anyway.  what’s a girl to do?

i mean, i guess i could look at the heart…but what if it sells?  it may not be there in the Fall…but i’m pretty sure he’ll be back!  uh no, as a matter of fact, i have no idea what his name is!  i could think of a few!  maybe not.  shameless.  i know.

when i was a kid my grandfather called me *littlestuff*!  no doubt, it’s a “word” that’s close to my heart!

when i was plotting and planning my space in the Antique Marketplace i knew i wanted to display my business cards.

so i framed a SweetTalk “me” tag and hung my cards
underneath it.  i know.  go ahead.  call me crazy.  cuz i truly get my happy-on over the silliest littlestuff!

can i tell you how great it was to pop in the Antique Marketplace yesterday!  what a luxury!

i had one quick chore to do in my space…plus…admittedly i was a wee bit curious!  i know.  it’s only been a few days since i moved in, but i’ve been shouting it from the mountain tops!  sure enough a couple of things sold!  ahh, that’s a good feeling!

anyway, the manager of the mall (who was not there tuesday when i moved in) followed me to my space.  and was extremely complimentary of the job i’d done!  he kept wanting to know if i had a degree in interior design or was i a graphic artist.  HUH?

no.  not me.  i have no education to brag about.  i have no formal skills or training.  i’m just ME doin’ MY thAng!

what i create in my space is a direct reflection of who i am.  and what i love.  it comes from my heart.  that’s it!

so he says to me: hey we have these two walls (that join two rooms of the mall) and we’d love you to rent them!  we want someone who’s good at merchandising and you’re great at that!

what?  me?  i don’t do walls…i mean, i’m great at covering them, but i completely stink at the next layer…what in the world would i do with two walls?

walls completely panic me.  i never have the right things to hang on them.  i’m always searching for something big that takes up a lot of space so i don’t have to think about it.  i always leave my walls for last.  procrastinating.  and then i have to gingerly (right.) place my foot in the middle of ironstone and vignettes that were carefully placed and lean and stretch to get something…anything…hung on my walls.

i don’t do walls.

so what did i tell him?   really?  me?  wow!  okay!   yeah, let me think about it.  uh-huh.  uh, but not before Marburger!

did i just commit to renting two walls?  crap.

but as the day wore on i got more and more excited!  I DON’T
DO WALLS.  that’s right.  and that’s exactly WHY i’m seriously considering doing these walls!

man.  i am so tempted…

my valentine got me my favorite pink tulips and took me to do something superfun last night!  can’t wait to tell you all about it…soon!

i have to admit…there’s not much i like better than a new pair of shoes!  i can’t always find clothes i like or that fit just right, but shoes…i can always find a pair of shoes i HEART!   when i jumped into the JUNK business i started buying every pair of baby shoes i could get my hands on!

i haven’t sold too many of them over the years, but i just don’t care!  they make me smile!

when i got to HEAP last week and saw the mirror my big sis made i could not get over it!  still haven’t, in fact!  and, yes, it sold in the first hour!  i did get a few pics and wanted to show you how absolutely adorable it is…was!

can you stand it?

i overheard a lady say “that would be so cute in a nursery!”  are you kidding me?  who needs a nursery?  if it were mine it would be front and center in my house!  

hats off to my creative and talented sister for coming up with this precious idea!  i have a feeling it will be copied, but not by me…i’m simply a jealous-wreck she thought of it first!

First things first…congrats to Sandi for guessing correctly what the little “thingies”  are that were posted in game on!  She gets her name in the hat an additional FIVE times!  But everyone who guessed gets their name in the hat too!

There were lots of good guesses and some funny ones too!  But the correct answer is: the “m” part hooked on to the Christmas tree branch and the ”flower” part held the candle!

I cannot listen to these incredibly beautiful words without crying.  Not only because I miss my Pop terribly but, more importantly, because of what it says about my Saviour.  When I hear this song…I realize…..

that my Pop knows the answers because he beat me to heaven!

One of the interesting things I have learned, since launching SweetTalk, is that words are very personal.  I don’t know why I thought people would generally like the same few words.  But what I’ve discovered is that the words we love are individual to each of us.

Now…..did y’all feel the earth shake just a hint when I jumped for joy Thursday afternoon as the last truck pulled out of the driveway?  The closet is finished!  hooray!

It is so incredible, I seriously considered taking a pillow and blankie and camping for the night!  I couldn’t start hauling clothes in fast enough!  ohmygoodness!
